About

REX 1516 is your home for quality, Southern-inspired cuisine. Executive Chef Craig Meyers, born and raised in Philadelphia, has extensive experience smoking meat, and all facets of BBQ. Chef Meyers has also taken over the creation and execution of our dessert program. Heather Rodkey, our General Manager, has compiled beer, wine and cocktails for perfect pairing or convivial sipping. Relax in our "faded, Southern mansion", designed by Arthur Saline. Much of the wooden furniture was repurposed by John Dougherty from salvaged churches and mansions - including our bar, courtesy of Frank Furness.

Excellent brunch menu with great variation; something for everyone. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles Benedict with a pear cocktail. >Food tasted great with a wide range of flavors. >Service was excellent and prompt. >Drinks tasted great with a variation of options. >Atmosphere had an amazing vibe filled with vintage decor.

Went here for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful time. The food was superb, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service top notch. The staff helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary and made it extra special. Great gluten free options too! Looking forward to our next visit!

This place is fantastic! My husband and I were sat immediately - there's no bad seat in the house. The food was beyond delicious (we highly recommend the wings). Great drink selection and the ambiance is a vibe. Our servers were prompt and courteous. You are in luck if Brian is on the floor! Thank you, Rex 1516. We will be back soon.

Came here for brunch after a night out and it really hit the spot! I got the chicken and waffles, and omg it was amazing!! Everyone I was with loved their food and we were so happy we found this place. We made reservations beforehand because we had a party of 7 for 11am (when they open) and were shown right to our table.

Awesome place. The service is great (huge thumb up for the waiter) and the food is very good. The burger here is incredible, with its spicy cheese and perfectly cooked bacon. I also advise you to take the sweet potatoes fries with it, but that's up to your tastes. Cocktails are nice, and the beer is cheap. Check it out!
