Moonstruck, a fabulous gem of a restaurant located in the Fox Chase area of Northeast Philadelphia, has been providing temptingly delicious Italian food for the past 40 years. Moonstruck originally opened as Ristorante DiLullo under the guidance of renowned cookbook author, Marcella Hazan. Moonstruck continues to delight its loyal customers with its exquisite Italian cuisine.

Good service and good food. I like the BYOB on Sundays and Wednesdays and the braised short ribs were quite good.

The food was good enough to bring it up to 3star, too start the server was polite but the host.... very catty older lady with bright red glasses, wow.. After calling and checking online if there was a dress code was greeted and then chastised about my jeans; following that there was constantly peeking and hearable exchanges to the wait staff trying to hurry my meal, not sure what her deal was not gonna dwell on it but it was obnoxious, also I was sat in a corner with a leaky ceiling. Kinda pricey for the total experience to be lacking.

I don’t get it. This place is not what the reviews state in my opinion. The most important part, the food, was pretty good. Given the flavor it was a little on the higher priced side and everything was portioned small. Basically you paid for it being trendy or exotic type meals. I’m fine with that so we tried a variety and everything just left me saying, that’s fine. The ricotta dessert was probably the best thing we tried. As for the service, the food was slooooooooow. Noticeably slow. We came at 8 and the older crowd (why is it every time I go to an Italian place it’s all old people) had already had their meals so idk what the hold up really was but whatever. It didn’t come out cold so I won’t blame the waiter. He was fine. And for people talking about the ambiance or decor... come on. The chairs we had though not uncomfortable were falling apart and made of wicker. This place is a bit of a time warp. I would have said 3.4 but they only allow whole numbers so it’s a 3. It’s only 8 minutes from my house I wish it was better

Always great food and the bartender is top-notch! The wait staff and maitre' d are phenomenal! All around, it's always superb!
