Our neighborhood restaurant and bar provides a casual elegance to Rittenhouse and Graduate hospital area in Philadelphia. Norris and Deb Jordan’s second location after the success of “The Happy Rooster”, Lou Bird’s is named after their daughter where family and friends are first. They specialize in creating local restaurants and bars that have a comfortable feel where the food is delicious, cocktails impressive, and you have fun! A local atmosphere and warm staff make it a perfect place to have dinner, brunch, or a group event!

my wife and i stopped in for a wonderful happy hour and dinner on tuesday. the gnocchi and buffalo shrimp appetizers were delicious and the pork and shoulder tender were sublime. service was top shelf and the recommendation of fresh watermelon margarita was out of this world. highly recommend you order it !! this was our first visit and definitely not our last.

Happy Hour....we ordered a Margherita pizza. It was a wannabe cracker crust slopped onto a small app plate. We didn't bother ordering any more food. 2 years ago, I remember eating an excellent meal here, beautiful purees, foams, plate decorations, garnishes etc. Now it’s lipstick on a pig. I heard the chef left, not sure what the new chef is doing, but maybe it’s time to Invest in someone that cares. Happy to help. I’ve worked in 3 different Michelin starred restaurants. Call me.

We had a good meal here last Saturday. The pork was especially good as well as the buffalo shrimp, and the Brussels sprouts were a favorite. The wine by the glass here is also very good selection. They also have outside seating, which is great this time of year..

The brunch was such a treat, a great alternative to the busy crowded Honey's. The homemade cinnamon rolls and the Chicken and Waffles were out of this world. Definitely a must for brunch.

Lou Birds for a Sunday brunch was terrific! We were a party of 18 and made reservations in advance. We had a room for our party and several wait staff. The food was unique and scrumptious. At a glance, one may think it is a limited menu, but there were choices that suited the vegetarian as well as the carnivore. EVERYTHING served was prepared beautifully and was delicious. Leftovers were passed around and everyone had a great time. An added bonus with four under the age of three was the room itself. It was a horribly warm rainy day, but inside the restaurant it was bright and comfortable, with the windows open and a warm breeze blowing. The kids loved standing by the window watching the people, dogs and rain, great entertainment. Reasonable prices, very large portions.
