About

Founded in Radnor, Pennsylvania in 1883, the Radnor Hunt is the oldest continuously active fox hunt in the United States, recognized by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America.  For a century and a quarter, Radnor Hunt has been the center of an active and loyal sporting community. 

From its inception, the leading families of Philadelphia and the newly popular Main Line enjoyed the hunt.  Well known citizens, such as Pennsylvania Railroad titan Alexander Cassatt and James Rawle of the Brill Streetcar manufacturing firm, were among the founding group of sports enthusiasts.  The original property (at the intersection of Darby-Paoli and Roberts Roads) was purchased in 1883; James Rawle was elected the first President with Horace B. Montgomery as the inaugural Master of Foxhounds.

We recently hosted a wedding reception at the Radnor hunt - and this picturesque horse club provided everything in a first-class fashion. First, the grounds. They are strikingly well manicured and full of breathtaking views of horse pastures and green grass. Guests at the wedding spent the majority of their time outside on the greens and on the covered patio taking in the views and scenery. Inside, there is a formal sitting area with chairs for elderly guests, a large welcome space for cocktail tables and a bar - and then the ballroom which evokes a sense of old-fashioned rustic charm. The General Manager at the Radnor Hunt, Doug I believe, was extremely accommodating to all of our requests. One of the reasons we selected this venue (aside from the beautiful scenery) was because of the ability for the bride to interact with some of the horses on Property. Doug arranged for pictures with one of the beautiful horses on site (Juliet - special thanks to her owner!) This alone took the day over the top, as a fairy tale wedding came to fruition. The staff at the Radnor Hunt present during the event were friendly, efficient, and adeptly skilled; we can't recommend this place enough for weddings or other special large events!

Beautiful atmosphere great people great food couldn’t find a better place to be outdoors having fun being with your friends and family enjoying life highly recommend you go to the Radner Hunt.

We attend the Concourse de Elegance yearly. This is a beautiful place. A Concourse de Elegance is a car show where all cars shown must be a perfect specimen of their vintage year. Cars date from horse drawn carriages to modern supercars. Many dealerships sponsor the event and bring along a large inventory of very high end cars for your scrutiny. For and car lover this is an incredible day. It's in September and is open to the public.

Historic home turned into a clubhouse with a stable and extensive grounds for competition and fox hunting. Well-maintained for its membership but not open to the public on a day to day basis. Host of the very successful yearly "Racing for Open Space" event with steeplechase races and tailgate opportunities . Excellent place to rent for a wedding or a social gathering.
