Hadn't been there for years. Went with my 4 & 6 year old grandsons today. I am thrilled to say they enjoyed it. We only stayed long enough to enjoy most of the third floor and part of the first. The first floor exhibit was modern but still abstract. I was surprised to see their excitement as they dragged me from one display to the next. Thank you to the staff member who approached just to commend them for following the rules and not touching the displays. They were enthralled by the Asian exhibits as we made a game of identifying which statues were missing what piece. They thought two of the items were missing arms which reminded me of the difference in what we as adults see in contrast to children. I had to pick them up so they could see that the arms were there, just not visible from the low angle they were at. More laughter and giggles. My dream became reality because my grandsons were able to enjoy the art museum because they appreciated that it was art. Another Philadelphia treasure added to our list of things to do!🥳

Not quite as big as the Met in NYC, this museum is more do-able. Take advantage of the free tour. A different dosen offers a guided one hour tour on a particular subject each hour. It's a nice intro to the museum and still gives you plenty of time to look at the exhibits on your own. November 2019, there was quite a bit of construction going on. The little cafe on the ground floor had good coffee and pastries at reasonable prices.

Always an amazing time whenever I go! I always end up seeing something new! Of course I have to visit my favorite artists as well but it’s nice to be refreshed with certain things that I forgot they had! Staff is always nice and courteous. Beautiful museum, I always take my friends/family who come to visit Philadelphia.

The museum is huge and a beautiful place to spend some time. I do not understand a lot about art but I love museum in general. Everything is very good organized and you can find yourself easily. The rooms are numbered and there are a lot of staff everywhere if you have any questions. Very good experience!

This is such a fascinating place! From the rocky statue to the fountain and the sculptures! The artwork and craftsmanship methodically moves a person to the unique and rich history that Philadelphia has to offer! Truly a remarkable place to walk around, explore, and visit. This place is a must see if your in the area. The view alone is breathtaking and beautiful. So much character and architecture to explore and see!
