About

It was a winding road that led me to wedding photography, but I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I have always been an artist. When I was in kindergarten, the teacher pulled my mother aside to rave about my rendition of a groundhog. I was constantly drawing, painting, coloring and taking art classes. I still have boxes and boxes of sketches and colorings from those days.

Not surprisingly, I went on to study Fine Art in college, earning my degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, my hometown. My first experience with photography came during my senior year, and it did not go well. While working on my very first assignment, I loaded the film incorrectly and wound up with a series of completely blank photos. I think it is safe to say I have come a long way since then.

In 2011 my husband and I were married in Cabo, Mexico and made the big move from Manchester to West Chester, Pennsylvania, where we’d bought a home. The following year, I was elated to discover I was expecting our first child, a daughter. Wanting a career that would provide me with an artistic outlet while fitting into my busy life as a new mom, I decided to start a photography business. I picked up my DSLR, went to night school and spent the next nine months shooting anything and everything, honing my craft and educating myself.

I had no idea then how deeply I would grow to love wedding photography. My clients are simply amazing, and every couple I meet holds a special place in my heart. I feel so fortunate to be able to capture one of the most important and memorable days in their whole lives. In September 2012, I shot my first wedding and now shoot about 30 weddings per year. I also regularly shoot engagements, portraits, and family sessions.

When not wearing my photographer hat, I am home with my son and daughter, now two and five years old.

As a young art student and painter, I confronted many blank canvases. Turning them into art often meant transforming my fears into confidence and my moments of frustration into moments of beauty. A day in the studio always left me exhausted, yet fulfilled. I had transformed those blank canvases into pieces that now had a life all their own.

I liken this to a wedding day. What begins as a still, blank canvas soon comes to life. Emotion, traditions and sweet surprises color the day with anything from uncooperative weather and ring bearers to a groom’s unexpectedly awesome moves on the dance floor. Through my lens, each wedding day becomes a unique body of work, a gallery of the little moments that together tell the story of two people in love.
