There is no better way to start Fall on the right foot than by catching a Sunday night football game! Sunday, October 6th the Philadelphia Eagles will be taking on the New York Jets. Though the Eagles aren’t off to the most electric start, it is still early enough in the season to buckle down and prepare for the coming months. In recent news, the Eagles acquired new LB Duke Riley, who many think can help be the extra boost the defense needs. 

This could be an excellent snippet of exactly how the Union will be able to fair in the playoffs, which the team recently clinched. NYCFC is an absolute giant in the MLS eastern conference, and rightfully so. Their exciting attack includes key players such as Alexandru Mitrita and Maximiliano Moralez. Before the playoffs, it is essential that manager Jim Curtin can figure out the center back pairing, and hopefully, can do so before one of the last major matches of the season.

You can’t beat catching the 76ers in action for less than $10! This is the last matchup of the preseason, which means you are in store for seeing glimpses of stars, past and future. Fans hope that Embiid can stay healthy and have an impactful season. Over the recent offseason, Embiid has boasted he lost over 20 pounds and is eyeing winning MVP, so fingers crossed he can lead us to the no. 1 seed.

WWE Live is always a great time when they make their way to the Philadelphia area. This time around, there will be plenty of dramatic twists, a RAW Championship match! The main card event pins two of the best wrestlers in the industry, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt, 1 v. 1. On one hand, Seth Rollins is the reigning WWE Universal Champ, while on the other hand, Bray Wyatt is a third-generation wrestler who is hungry to leave his mark on history. On Monday, October 21st the Flyers will take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Last season, the Knights took the pacific division by storm, winning 82 games, while only having 24 losses. The Flyers must attempt to power through this matchup and shut down key players, such as Jonathan Marchessault. No matter the outcome, it’s always fun to see Gritty in person.

Underwood carries an excellent career, with highlights including 7 Grammy Awards, 11 Billboard Music Awards, and even a Guinness World Record among the most notable. It’s almost crazy to think all this fame began by winning hit TV show “American Idol.”

24-year-old Austin Post, better known as Post Malone, has single-handedly reformed hip-hop as it’s known today. Malone embodies an absolutely unique sound, which influences stem heavily from both pop and rock. Since finding immense stardom after his 2016 album release, “Stoney,” Malone has had nothing short of a prolific career. As of 2019, Post Malone has sold over 60 million records in the U.S., in addition to winning two American Music Awards and a Billboard Music Award. This live performance will surely impress.

This duo formed in 2001, consisting of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. From recording records in their basement to now having produced 9 critical acclaimed albums, they are not a pairing to miss. Each year, hip-hop fans in the Philadelphia area are treated to an absolutely spectacular event, Powerhouse. This event encompasses all that is hip-hop, and never fails to impress with a star-studded line-up. From Philly’s own PNB Rock to renowned recording group, The Migos, this event will be nothing short of an electric Friday night. Who knows, maybe Meek Mill will decide to make one of his famous surprise appearances.

What are the odds of two American Idol winners finding themselves in Philadelphia in the same month? Fantasia Barrino will be taking the stage at the Liacouras Center on October 26th, accompanied by none other than Robin Thicke! Both are exceptionally talented artists, known for one common thing, excellent R&B music. Who would’ve thought Deon Cole got his start in the industry from a friend betting him that he wouldn’t get up on stage during a night out in Chicago? If that night hadn’t happened, Cole would be without what has blossomed into a successful career. Much of that success stems from his participation in the writing staff of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and Conan. With Steve Martin, you can expect absolute greatness, after all, Comedy Central placed him at #6 of the top 100 stand-up comics. However, you should not let this overshadow his partner on stage, Martin Short. Short is an act that really provides an experience like none other. He’s won a Tony Award for his lead role in Little Me on Broadway, and has filled the homes across America with laughter through his part in Saturday Night Live. Many are familiar with him as a common panelist on E!’s late night show, Chelsea Lately. October wouldn’t be October without Oktoberfest. Thanks to Peddler’s Village, they are bringing that here. For two days, they will be holding what is known as the October Feast. In addition to live music, indulge in an excellent array of authentic German cuisine.  If you are able to make it on the 12th, you’ll get an extra treat of an outdoor movie night of The Goonies.

The iconic Philly POPS are treating the city once again, this time, to The Nightmare Before Christmas! Hear all the famous soundtracks of the film performed live as you follow the story of Pumpkin King Jack Skellington and his plan to claim Christmas for himself. This is sure to be an exciting show as the stage at the Met is newly renovated and uses state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment. Plus, it’s just in time for Halloween! 

Here’s your chance to see the hit Broadway show that is absolutely sweeping the nation. Come From Away many regard to be one of the most breathtaking shows to hit the stage. The story line paints the picture of the day after the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks. Over 30 passenger jets holding thousands of passengers are forced to land, after the US closed its airspace, in Gander, a newly found land with a population of just 9,000 people. From here comes a weaving of each individual’s storyline and the overall importance of human connection during dark days. You won’t want to miss this award-winning performance.

Cherry Crest Farms is one of our personal favorites for heart warming family fun. Highlights of this adorable, family-owned farm include a 5-acre corn maze, slides, wagon rides, and even a petting zoo. Of course with it being October, there is a pumpkin patch that will hopefully provide the perfect pumpkin to bring home. If you happen to mark your calendars for this Friday, October 25th, your kids will even be able to trick or treat here!

Although this Orchard is lesser known to some of the more popular spots in the Philadelphia area, it truly is a hidden gem. The kid’s will absolutely love picking their own pumpkins and apples. After building up an appetite on the farm, be sure to stop by the Farm Market to try some of their tasty treats. If you aren’t a fan of big crowds, this is the perfect solution for some fall fun.

Wow your little one’s with the many wonders that the Linvilla Orchards’ Pumpkinland has to offer. Here, there are over 100 tons of pumpkins on display! In addition, it will have everything a child could expect when taking a trip to the farm. Corn mazes, pony and train rides, and even face painting will be sure to keep the little ones busy and most of all, happy. For many children, Sesame Place in the summer is an oasis of exploration, and most of all, fun. The fun doesn’t have to end when the fall rolls in, Sesame Place is featuring their Halloween Spooktacular once again. This is the perfect kid friendly place, as it’s not too spooky. Be sure to bring your cameras, as all the neighborhood friend’s will be dressed in their very best costumes.

Boo at the Zoo provides the opportunity for all children to experience the wonders of the animal kingdom, with a fun Halloween twist. This attraction is considered to be more family friendly, however, that isn’t to confuse it to be a light scare. Brave your way through The House in the Hollow, dare to enter the field of fright, and of course, their infamous hayride. You won’t want to miss Sleepy Hollow this spooky season.

Back for its 30th season, this heart pumping attraction is here once again to provide a Halloween experience to remember. The 4 chilling attractions here include an all new Hayride, the return of the legendary Miles Manor, Scary Tales haunted forest walk, and last but not least, Operation Z zombie escape. In addition to all these frights, there will also be live entertainment and dining options to help lower the adrenaline. A great bonus for those in college, Valley of Fear offers a $5 discount online.

After being abandoned for over 25 years, Pennhurst Asylum has transformed into one of the premier haunted attractions in the Philadelphia area. The Asylum itself is over 100 years old, and served as a prison for those deemed to be the ‘undesirables’ of society. To this day, it is regarded as one of the most haunted asylums in the entire country, so it only seems fitting to have a haunted house within its walls. Can you brave all 4 attractions? Our personal favorite is the Morgue.

Looking for an adrenaline filled, scary date night? Look no further, Eastern State’s Terror Behind The Walls is sure to test even the bravest of hearts. Put yourself to the true spooky test as you explore the 6 terrifying attractions, all of which encompass a different part of the abandoned prison. If you are looking for the experience of a lifetime, opt for the ‘mark’. Being marked means that the actors may interact with you, meaning being grabbed, held back from your date, or even sent into hidden passageways. Whatever you choose, we wish you the best of luck.

Considered one of the best haunted houses in America, Bates Motel is another spooky date night option. Every corner in the Motel holds a new fright, waiting for it’s next ‘victim’ to scare. You can always opt for the less intense hayride or haunted trail, however, it is still quite frightening. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, as they are routinely in high demand.

Sometimes a fall date idea is as simple as pumpkin picking. Enjoy one another’s company as you go through hundreds of pumpkins, until you find that pumpkin you will call your own. Of course, there will be plenty of excellent photo opportunities, perfect for Instagram and Facebook. While checking out the farm, consider sticking around for their after hours Horrorfest!

This one is sure to be a hit with your significant other, Oktoberfest at Morgan’s Pier! Here, your ticket gets you access to 4 hours of an open bar and unlimited soft pretzels. In addition, you can try your artistry skills via pumpkin carving, and even enjoy live music.
